Brandon Smith:  The Birds and The Bees

Brandon Smith is one of our favorite artists:  we started collecting his work before we had the gallery, and he's been showing with us since our first group show many years ago.  He has been a stalwart supporter of the gallery, exhibiting his own work and introducing us to many of his talented students and colleagues.  For all these reasons--and because he's just an excellent painter--we are truly delighted to present his second solo show, The Birds and The Bees.  The pieces celebrate his theme both literally and figuratively:  a vibrant array of hummingbirds, pigeons and bees give way to portraits borne out of the desire to start a family of his own.
