Bill Cone
Recent Landscapes
October 13th - November 7th
Opening reception: Saturday, October 16th, 2-6 pm
Artist talk: Thursday, October 21st, 7-8 pm
We are so happy to be able to fill the gallery with Bill Cone's luminous landscapes! Not quite two years after his blow-out solo show, Bill's back again with 41 pastel pieces, and each one is a gem. He's continued his exploration of the eastern Sierra, with new work inspired by his annual back-packing trips. There are images from closer to home, depicting the Bay Area, especially the East Bay hills. Finally, the show includes a stunning collection of Grand Canyon pieces. As an artist who's captivated by light, water and rocks, the Grand Canyon is the ultimate subject, and this is a great chance to see how he captures the grandeur of that iconic site. The show includes both plein air work and larger pieces completed in the studio, intimate studies of roadside flowers and sweeping vistas. In addition to attending the reception, Bill will give a talk about his work on Thursday, October 21st. We hope you'll join us to see this special body of work.
